  From nothing comes something… WAAPA’s Dance students flex their choreographic talents in this highly entertaining collection of original dance works, performed at PICA in the city. The creative culmination of three years of study, these new works will provoke, inspire and enchant.

  ROMEO AND JULIET  
  WEST AUSTRALIAN BALLET, 3 July - 18 July, HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE  
 
 

This acclaimed production, choreographed by Youri Vàmos of Deutsch Oper Am Rhein, is set in the 1930’s and features an evocative set and costumes from the period. The time shift, Vàmos says, came from considering Prokofiev’s powerful score, composed in the 1930’s; “the music has this spirit, this atmosphere”.
