  BEYOND CARROLUP
CENTRAL TAFE ART GALLERY, 8 JUNE - 27 JUNE

The unique paintings of Indigenous artists from the South-West of WA have been overlooked and under-appreciated in the present flourishing renaissance of Australian Aboriginal art. Mainly landscapes, they have a surreal, spiritual longing for an Arcadian past.

These powerful iconic images taken from history and contemporary culture form combinations that will intrigue the viewer. Hummerston plays individual elements off against each other to create paradoxes which pose questions as to the nature of representation and its application in our daily lives.
